Reebok "Springblades"... Would that be Cheating? (Read 208 times)

My daughter's volleyball coach has these. His only comment on them so far, is that he trips over joints in the court surface several times a day. The joints in the volleyball court are much smaller than the cracks in most sidewalks and streets.

I would make sure your insurance is paid up before running in these.

When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?

    The Runner Life

Looks like a lot of wasted energy/injury potential.  For $140+, it would be better to get a pair of Newtons, or some other shoe that encourages midfoot striking and biomechanical efficiency.

      Latent Runner

If you see any runner wearing those at a local race, they are probably going to finish about the same time as the 260lb guy with two knee braces and the OA walk winner.

Hey, I resemble that remark (or at least I did a few months ago).  Smile

        Fat old man PRs:

        • 1-mile (point to point, gravity assist): 5:50
        • 2-mile: 13:49
        • 5K (gravity assist last mile): 21:31
        • 5-Mile: 37:24
        • 10K (first 10K of my Half Marathon): 48:16
        • 10-Mile (first 10 miles of my Half Marathon): 1:17:40
        • Half Marathon: 1:42:13
