How can I run a Faster 5k? (Read 127 times)

While building the mileage, it might be a good idea to leave the garmin home, especially in the summer.  Pace does not matter, effort and time on feet are the only two factors we need to worry about.  If you insist on wearing a watch, expect 20-30 sec/mile slower pace at the same effort while building the mileage and add on another 10-20 sec for the summer heat.  Not saying to run all miles at an unnaturally slow pace, but don't push it too much either until you get used to the higher weekly volume.

thanks everyone for all the input. I appreciate it. More base miles it is.

BTW- If anyone near MI is still looking for a good July 4th race tomorrow, check out Frankenmuth. I'll be running the 10k for about the 25th time.
