Those are both good points....I will have to remember not to slow down even if others around me do! I have a habit of going out to fast and then dying off, but those were all in races in which I didn't have a Garmin and wasn't the best at knowing my pace. I feel I have definitely improved in that area. I did look at the course map and there are quite a few turns for a short case so I will have to be mindful of that. Thanks again for all your advice!
