Rocky Raccoon 100 - pacing (Read 105 times)

gokuflip

My friend Anthony was going out to attempt 100 miles at Rocky Raccoon and I was going to be his crew and pace him in for his last loop. After his 2nd loop he wasn't looking so great so since he was 61 years old I knew I could pace him for the 3rd loop if he needed me to. He did so I ran the 20 with him and then the other pacer took him on from mile 60-80 and i finished it up with him for the last loop. 20 unexpected miles for me but we got him to the finish line before 30 hours! So proud of my friend.

I also took a lot of footage during the race that will take a few weeks to edit but check out the little trailer I made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Xm-0CeYUSc

      nice!

pacing for friends in 100's is an experience like no other, and it forms a bond like no other.  having been on both sides of that coin, i'm always a fan of crews and pacers.

congrats to anthony, and props to you!

LOL I did ask him what his next 100 was and he just looked at me as if I were crazy.
