Funny signs you have seen during a race (Read 533 times)

A Dance with Monkeys

I know a race that has long had demotivational signs.

2011, SMH Sydney Half Marathon held by a 20 something girl:

"If you've got stamina, my number is xxxxxxxxxx"

And in the same race, at about the 19km mark, held by a girl in a skimpy costume:

      "Free lap dances (for runners)."

Not sure that she would have gotten many takers that close to the end of race but it sure made me smile.

      Little Blue

      Grand Master for a day

Not a sign, but in a HM there was a group of girls with this t-shirt:  'Nine friends getting together to run a race.  Why couldn't we just do lunch like normal people?'

        Big grin

Hang on a second.  I did the Sydney half a few years ago (Blackmore's??).  I didn't see any signs like.  If I did, I likely would have stopped!!!!!  Gotta love the Aussie girls!

                At Tallahassee 50 mile

"Any idiot can run a marathon.  It takes a special kind of idiot to run an ultra-marathon."

                "You've got stamina! Call me!"

"Stop bitching - You paid for this"

"If a marathon were easy, it would be called your mother"

"May the course be with you"

"It's OK - You can quit now."  (NOT at the finish line)

                "You look like hell."

I prefer funny to encouraging. And it doesn't take much to make me laugh Smile

My daughter made one for a race that was supposed to be torrential thunderstorms....  It just said RUN and had rain clouds and lightning bolts striking runners.  She seems to have my sense of humor.

A mom and daughter were running a half marathon together (I think it was at the Air Force Half) and both of their shirts said, "She made me do this."  They had arrows pointing to each other.  Clown

During a 10 mile race I saw this sign:

"Chuck Norris never ran the Tely 10"

                      made me lol

One of my favorites I saw when running Boston a few years back

                        "Your wife just called..."

then about 10 feet down the road another sign said.

                        "She said, run faster!"
