Okay - My 5K was part of the Race For the Cure today in Raleigh, NC. Unfortunately I forgot to stop my watch at the end of the run, so this time is an estimate and official times won't come out until Monday. My virtual 5K time is 41:20. Which places me solidly in the top 10 finishers so far... Big grin Waiting to hear how everyone else did today...

    Roads were made for journeys...

Ran a soggy 3.5 miles today in 30:53 for an 8:48 pace. So I guess the time for a 3.1 mile run would be 27:16? Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

Not that I'm breaking any world records here, but I am (excuse my language, it is the excitement, I can't contain it) damn excited!! Big grin Apparently chasing an energetic 6-yr old on a bike through town motivates you to run a little faster than usual...actually, alot faster. I did my 5K in a personal best 29:25!!! That is a 9:30min mile, by the way...and a miracle for me! My daughter biked, I ran. We clocked our mileage before the run to know where our 5K cutoff was. We hit that in the aforementioned time & then ran another 0.8mi to the local health club to work out for 30min, then ran another 0.8mi to get back to my Jeep. But in all honesty, the true hero here is a little 6-yr old that biked & cheered her little fanny off!! Nothing like hearing, "come on Mom, don't slow down, you can run faster" from over a shoulder to get you moving! Great job to those that are finished & best of luck to those still to run!!! Big grin Big grin Eryn P.S. Can you tell I'm on a little runner's high right now???? Cool

Man, I love that kid! Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she and Dane were to someday marry--at least neither of them would get evil MILs--or maybe they BOTH would, LOL! Big grin k

Just finnished my run a bit ago. The wind was kinda nasty as it usally is here in monterey. Ihad no trouble with the first half, but by 3/4 point or so I was starting to feel it. I was happy to have finnished strong/ feeling good. my time : 34:42... a 11:12 pace. I'll have to see if I can dropp that by next month a littel. Now thing I'll go for some of the refreshments...... Big grin

Wow, this is a badass post-race party....pretty sweet stuff. I didn't see a t-shirt in a size small though, why is it that these darn virtual races never carry my size...ugghhhh. Guess I'll have to give this shirt to my mom for that virtual race t-shirt quilt she claims she is working on. Just got back from winning my hometown's 5k road race in 17:02. Successfully defended my title for two years in a row now Big grin Lets say we all hit up the nearest web bar to celebrate, first round is on me Cool
