Trader Joe's--what's your favorite item(s)? (Read 1053 times)

I know, it's an old thread but TJ's, I could not resist. Besides everything mentioned before, I love their Organic Tomato & Roasted Red Pepper Soup. Use it cold as a salad dressing too. Yumm!

We STILL don't have a TJ's on this side of the state...fuckers.

                not bad for mile 25

Assorted Joe-Joes.  I think they're seasonal, and very unhealthy.  Yum.

Their nuke-em-ups are way better than what you'll find in other stores.  Thai sauces.  Couscous-quinoa-orzo mixture.  Cheeses.  Fresh fruits & veggies are generally good as well.

I agree that a lot of trader joes stuff sounds better in the ad copy they write than the item actually tastes.

However, the stuff that is good makes the whole trip worthwhile, IMHO.

                    For example:  http://www.traderjoes.com/fearless-flyer/article.asp?article_id=561

This stuff is amazingly good.  They really can't keep it in stock at my local TJ's.

                      No Talent Drips

These things are not over-rated.  Every time I drive through Portland (closest TJ's to me...5 hours by dog sled), I pick up no fewer than ten boxes. But, then, I do love beets.

I have to agree. Additionally, we boycott Trader Joe's for the reason that they do not support sustainable foods. If you look in their seafood section for example, many of their product(s) originate from overseas where harvesting techniques involve stripping the fisheries and leaving them barren.

The Just Mango slices were just a little bitter to me (maybe I just got a bad batch).

I have to say though, I like the Mango slices they have a Costco better (although I think there's more than "just mango" in them).
