New Balance 1061 vs 1062 (Read 1154 times)

IMKY13 finish!!

I see that NB has replaced their 1061's with 1062's. Once I heard that the 1061's were being retired...I started gobbling some up (at pretty good discounts I might add). Well, I am cloing in on my final pair and was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the 1062's who used to wear the 1061's. Thanks!!

The 1062's are a lot more durable; improved "stability web". The 1061 were a little lighter. I like both shoes, but IMHO the 1062 is a better shoe. I wish they would cut back on the synthetic leather overlays, and design the upper like the 826.
Can't really speak on the 1061 but I have been running on the 1062 for about 12 miles now and so far I love them. My feet feel more comfortable than the Nike's that I was running in, they were giving me shin splints and was really affecting my knees so I am glad that I changed to the new balance. Oh and the fact that they also had a 20% discount and the Navy Exchange so that helped also.
        2009 Goals...:
        -run more miles than 2008

Ditto that. I've put about 180 miles on my two pair (first pair, the N-lock failed catastrophically at 135 miles and the store gave me a new pair). I've not run in the 1061s, but love the 1062s, with the exception of the upper. My last pair of shoes were 661s and I loved that the upper was almost entirely breathable. These are a little hot at times.

If you still want to get some 1061s, FootLocker has them for $70 and you should be able to use coupon code LKS18LFF to get 30% off to bring it down to just under $50. Great price for a shoe that I paid $120 or so for each my last 3 pairs. Tomorrow is the last day to use the coupon though
