Good luck Houston runners!
I think I've identified my problem: a popliteal strain, or at the very least, it's aggravated. Often due to overuse, especially with hill running, which I've been doing a lot of. So, I guess I'm resting for a few days. Good thing I'm not in the peak phase for training for an ultra or anything...
Brew & DWave - You two are funny. Good luck in Houston! [passive-aggressive humble brag] My resting HR for the last 7 days is 41 bpm! [/passive-aggressive humble brag]

[heck on you] my (slightly faulty) Apple Watch had my resting HR at 40 twice last week [/heck on you]
OMR -- I will look up "popliteal strain", but I won't try to pronounce it.
DW -- I'm up for some marathon tracking. Good luck!

Haha, I have no idea how to pronounce it either, but the symptoms fit. Pain is mostly behind the knee (not under the kneecap), when the knee is slightly bent, or when rotating. I think there is also some synovial fluid buildup in the joint, but it's a pretty mild case, so hopefully a few days off and some stretching of the hamstring, quads, etc., will take care of it.

simple solution: do not bend or rotate knee. geez, why overcomplicate? [insert emoticon from old RW board]

I am really out of the loop these days. What's your goal?
85 minutes and change.
Jut arrived in Houston a few hours ago, after a 90 minute flight delay. Seat mates were sick, so very glad for my flu mask (cupped to my nose the whole time with one hand.)
Everyone's gotta running blog; I'm the only one with a POOL-RUNNING blog.
And...if you want a running Instagram where all the pictures are of cats, I've got you covered.

I would wish good luck but that makes no sense... how about good pacing?

DW - hope you get your 85!
E78 - hope you get your sub 90!
Good luck!

Upcoming Races - Boston Marathon 4/18
Here's my RR link, http://tnrun.blogspot.com/2018/01/charleston-131.html.
I thought I'd get it out of the way, while the rest of my family naps.
Today was a good day. Quick recap. Low temps (low 40s), High winds (15-30, headwind roughly 8 of the last 9 miles). Felt great from start to finish, had a course direction issue (see RR), but got a new PR.
13.1 in 1:25:16, really happy with this. Definitely think sub-85 was there today if there was a little less wind.
Official race time: 1:21:29 (again, see RR for course issue)
Good luck DW and Elizabeth!!

Ace ~ That's superb! Great job. (I hate mismarked/mismeasured courses)
11 w/ 6 x 800m cut-down (6:40/6:30/6:22/6:10/5:46/5:44) w/ 1 min recovery, except for the last one (2'), then 6 x 200m @38.5 avg (~5:08 pace), 200m walk/jog recovery
Will Run for Donuts!
Ace: Bummer about the course mix-up! That's such a shame!
Nice pace, though, and commendable of you to keep running for the full 13.1. The spectators must've wondered what the heck was going on!
If I got this right, DW ran 1:25:43. 64th woman and 1st AG. Wahoo!
5K 20:44 6:41
10K 19:56 6:25
15K 30:13 6:31

Overall pace 6:28, so a fast close.
Excellent. That seems to be 85 and some change -- which I think was Plan A!
DkW ~ Excellent! Speedy and 1st AG at a race like Houston is serious. Congrats.
My week:
M) 7.5 w/ strides
Tu) 7.5 w/ strides

Sa) 11 w/ 6 x 800m cut-down (6:40/6:30/6:22/6:10/5:46/5:44) w/ 1 min recovery, except for the last one (2'), then 6 x 200m @38.5 avg (~5:08 pace), 200m walk/jog recovery
Su) 14 w/ last ~10 minutes hard (M pace) ("feels like" was in single digits )
Total: 62
12 week average right at 60 mpw, which includes race taper/recovery
