Neg splits? All you need to know is the halfway point. Even if you don't know where you are you can always go out and back.
Getting the wind knocked out of you is the only way to
remind your lungs how much they like the taste of air.

I ended up driving all the way home, got my spare tires and tools and drove back to the Motel. By the time I got to sleep, it was 2:00am. My alarm went off at 5:00am. Needless to say my times sucked, but I finished!! Beat that one!

I've done this more than once ... failing to wake up early enough to beat the heat in the summer ... and going running at noon when it's 95* out ... stupid, stupid, stupid!
Oh, and I should mention that my right knee is really pissed at me after last night. That'll learn me to not turn a recovery run into a tempo run. k
To paraphrase an old poster: Today is the first day of the rest of your training. It doesn’t matter where you started or how far you’ve come. Today is the day. Your training didn’t start 6 weeks ago. Your training started the last time you hit the road. John “the Penguin” Bingham Life is not tried, it is merely survived if you're standing outside the fire

Not taking the time to stop and remove a very small pebble from my shoe on a long training run. STUPID!!!!!!
Running a route that included about half a mile of road without shoulder or sidewalk. (Deep ditches on both sides) Every idiot driver in town passed by during those few minutes. After surviving the human "frogger" game, I changed my route.
