Garmin 305 won't consistently sync on Windows 8 (Read 21 times)

I got a new Windows 8 laptop.

The Garmin Forerunner 305 will sync if I reinstall Garmin Communicator and the usb driver. However, after the next run, Devices - Garmin USB GPS says "Driver error".

The uploads were consistently good on my old Win7 laptop.

Any tips?

Did you get this figured out? I got a new laptop, Windows 8, and when I hook up my Garmin 305, it will charge, but the training centre gives me a connection error and doesn't download the run details.
