RIP Milkman
The GPS part is good advice. I'm just going to run the watch for the sake of it, but I'm doing the mental math each mile to check my pace. My corral seeding should be good enough that I can be within 15 seconds of gun time.
Edit: I want to add a big thanks to everyone participating in this discussion. Very helpful!

Cinnamon - I must have missed it in the MM thread that you ran NYC last year! It sounds like we ran a similar paced race.

threeDB at the 3 mile mat in 18:33, 6:11 pace.
Morning everybody! I am having fun sipping coffee, tracking friends at Baystate, Marine Corp Marathon, and Atlantic City Marathon... lots of stuff going on, very exciting this time of year. It's a cool morning here on the US east coast (north east) at 42F at 8AM, but things will warm up fast, climbing to 63F at 11AM. A good day to run a marathon!
IAM - do you know Christopher Battoo? He's a friend of mine from your area, also running Baystate.
threeDB - 10K - 38:55, 6:16 pace, 8.5M - 53:18, 6:16 pace, 13.1M - 1:22:03, 6:16 pace, looks on target for sub-2:45.
I'm heading out for my 16 miles, so I will be looking forward to seeing the results upon my return.

2020 Goals - Sub-2:55 Marathon Up Next: TBD, Boston on 9/14?
threeDB at 16.3 in 1:42:26, 6:17 pace. Just back from my run. The weather here was totally fine an hour ago (55F, very dry, some clouds) but the sun is burning off the cloud cover. It's fine in the shade, but you definitely feel the sun if you're facing into it. I think the Baystate course is pretty tree-lined from 18 -> 23 or so, so hopefully he can stick in the shady spots and bring it in strong.
30k in 1:56:42, back down to 6:15 pace! Estimated finish: 2:44:11.
Just woke up (you guys just getting back from your morning run make me jealous): good luck three! Hopefully gets it home in under 2:45.
23 mile mat in 2:24:30, just under 6:17 pace. Estimated finish still 2:44:11. Holding strong, just needs to kill the last 5k!
Come on ThreeDB! Finish strong
Upcoming races: Boston
I stopped getting updates, but the results search shows threeDB with a finish time of 2:45:51. That's a 3+ minute PR and a no-doubt-about-it three digit bib time! Awesome job, congrats!
Nope, can't say that I do. I'm up in the burbs, and very very rarely run with anyone else. Looks like he ran 2:35, he's fast!
