Ready to race!
It took a while to get ratified, but it is official now. Not sure how long the record will last, but for now I hold the US AG record for 50K road race. I count this as one of my biggest accomplishments in running. I prepared for over a year for this and it took 2 tries. I'm very happy to have this goal complete.

I did it at a 50K in Tulsa in 2021.

5k - 20:39 / 10k - 43:48 / Half - 1:34:47 / Full - 3:38:10
congratulations! Did you do any training notably different than marathon training for that?
1600 - 5:23 (2018), 5k - 19:33 (2018), 10k - 41:20 (2021), half - 1:38:57 (2018), Marathon - 3:37:17 (2018)
Are we there, yet?
Congratulations! Opportunities on a certified course and sanctioned race aren't that common.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
The only thing I did different was I added a light tempo run on my off weeks. So one weekend I would go long and the next I would go about 12 to 18 miles with several miles at 50K goal pace. I think these 50K pace runs helped a lot. I started at 8 miles and increased to 16 miles at 50K pace.
same age group here but no records! great job...it's not easy doing any race much less 50k and at a record pace!

Wow. Great job!!!
As a member of the 5th decade I can fully appreciate the enormity of the task and the work you put in to get there.

It's Tuesday every day
WTG. That is hard to do!
Impressive! All your hard work paid off. Congratulations!!
Don't make excuses for why you can't get it done.
Focus on all the reasons why you must make it happen.
Why is it sideways?
6:30 pace for 50k is no joke. Nice work.
Consistently Slow
WOW. Congratulations!
Run until the trail runs out.
