Barefoot and happy

I'm asking this purely out of curiosity, but what's with all the 128 bit identifiers in the URLs? Looks like you're planning ahead for the day when you have 300 trillion trillion trillion users. Big grin I could see using such a big identifier if it were intended to be secret and unguessable, but they look public to me. Perhaps it's a Microsoftism? I know they're fond of GUIDs... Anyway, thanks for the site, I'm hooked.

    eric :)

I was lazy. It's a lot easier to produce a guid that guarantees no collision in the database than to handle the duplicate ID error whenever I do an insert. I thought about using integer based IDs after the fact, but it's probably too late to change now because there are just too many records. In the end, I like having guids because it has the added bonus of obfuscation. You can't "walk" through the records. It's part of my paranoia.
