    You're thinking of Seppo Kaitainen.

I want to do it because I want to do it.  -Amelia Earhart

I'm almost positive that's a sushi place in Chicago.

There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.

I'm impressed that you knew that.

Did you actually think I was a Masshole? I've only lived here 19 years.

Hmmmm...good point.  You don't seem like as much of a dick as the rest of them.

Have you seen him drive?  That's the real tell of a Masshole.

              FYI, registration is happening now.

I'm kind of annoyed that they changed this.  Register 11 months in advance? Really?  Who plans that far ahead?  Imagine if Boston did their registration in May.  People would lose their minds.  This race is definitely on my list, but there is no way I can sign up that far ahead.

                We are the music makers,

And we are the dreamers of dreams,

                Wandering by lone sea-breakers,

                    And sitting by desolate streams;

                World-losers and world-forsakers,

On whom the pale moon gleams:

Yet we are the movers and shakers

Of the world for ever, it seems.

IKR? I'd like to do this one year but will never know 11 months out. It's like I need to make a 195 gamble/donation...

This seems to be a trend at least with ultras.  Several races I would like to run now have registration cutoff at least 7 months out and a couple are 10 plus months out.  Ironically some of these races didn't even full up until a few weeks before but are now filling up immediately.  I suspect the reason is partly because of increasing popularity of trail running and part of it due to the change in registration.

Although I do respect the amount of time and planning that goes into directing a race, sometimes I wonder what the motivation for doing this is besides getting the cash many months up front.

                    not bad for mile 25

What's the weather gonna be like?

Like the Chicago Marathon is worried it won't sell all available bibs...

What is the point in doing it now rather than March or April or whatever it was before? More cash sooner to do stuff?
