Anyone experienced with McConnell taping for runner's knee? (Read 300 times)

Knee pain has got me down lately. Went to the PT, and he says it's classic patellofemoral syndrrome. VMO muscle on the inside is weak, so the kneecap is tracking to the outside....hilarity ensues.

He just taught me the McConnell technique for taping and re-tracking the kneecap. It seems to be helping. (Although until I shaved my knee removing the tape was one of the most uniquely painful things I have ever experienced.)

Just wondering who else has used McConnell taping, how it worked out for them, and whether it helped them get over the root cause of the problem (muscle imbalance combined with high volume).
