Backing up my log (Read 646 times)

    Hey all,

    I am trying to back up my log using the XML format. I can download the file but it makes no sense. This is what the file winds up looking like:

    <Interval type="0" typeName="Interval">

      <Duration seconds="1.96">0:01.96</Duration>

    - <HeartRate>

      <AvgHR>158</AvgHR>

      <MaxHR>158</MaxHR>

      </HeartRate>

      </Interval>

      </IntervalCollection>

      </Event>

    - <Event type="10" typeName="Run" subtype="6" subtypeName="Race" channel="10" id="f6c870a2d92444f8b2f0bda71347cd7d" time="2009-07-26T10:25:00Z">

      <Quality>10</Quality>

      <Effort>9</Effort>

      <Distance unit="Mi">5.06</Distance>

      <Duration seconds="2066.34">34:26.34</Duration>

      <Route id="4040e52701c1461784468df8b778ff7a">Moscow country Run</Route>

    - <IntervalCollection id="93f9a53626314119a3ac88fc39a9f6f0" name="GPS Interval">

    - <Interval type="0" typeName="Interval">

      <Distance unit="Mi">1</Distance>

    I don't understand. I just want it to back up my weeky, monthly, yearly mileage, and how many miles I have on my shoes to date. Can anyone advise?

    Thanks

      Fastenoughforyou,

      As specified on the download page, RA allows you to download your data in two formats: tab delimited and XML.  Tab delimited file does not contain all of your data (i.e. maps and other data are missing) but allows you to manipulate it using a spreadsheet.  The XML file is a snapshot of all your data.  As you said, it is used primarily for backup purposes.

      The tab delimited file is probably what you're looking for.

            The page is in your Training Log tab > Tools menu > Download training data to your computer.
