Sugar. Most specifically, brown sugar with some maple.
I like the idea of maple flavor. I wonder if maple syrup would be a good natural, unrefined sweetener?

Unrefined? No. It's processed. The stuff that comes out of a maple tree is clear & bitter. It has to be cooked & concentrated down. Natural? Yes.

Cooking is a type of food processing. And it changes the molecular structure of the ingredient. It cannot be assumed that it is anymore or less natural or healthy just because it is Mapole versus Cane-based sugae
