I just realized that wasn't from the link. Haha. No, I don't necessarily disagree with the quote. However, that same exact quote could be replaced with the word caffeine instead of dmaa. The difference is that caffeine is widely marketed and accepted.  1,3 dimethylamylamine sounds like a steroid or something to the average person.

1H-Purine-2,6-dione  is the proper name for the compound commonly known as "caffeine"....How many perople would accept that in their Gu?

What evidence do you have to support this assertion?

I think that is a good product. How many scoops do you use? Have you taken a product with the1,3-Dimethylamylamine (Geranium) before? I love that stuff.  I was a little more interested with someone who hasn't taken it with such a large dose of stimulants. Look up the effects of Beta-Alanine and carnosine production. Good stuff. Also, have you taken the regular 3.2g that is normally recommended? In any case, I get really hot during runs, and I know that it temporarily makes me a bit hotter, which is what my concern is.

I had some samples given to me in a marathon expo and just started using before some longer training runs. There is no real way to test whether this supplement makes you "HOTTER". All of us increase in body temperature when running and this time of year it increase even more. Even the frozen tundra of Green Bay is having heat indexes above 100 degrees the last few days. Your body will tell you if you are getting too overheated. Personally, I would not take the stuff for every run and leave it to bigger work outs or longer days or races assuming you have experimented with it enough.

My big lifting days are over so I I haven't taken these products before lifting these days!

You're looking to increase your body temperature during long runs? Maybe you're living in a different hemisphere.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

My brothers might say that beer is a supplement that makes others look hotter.

Or Xanthine. It's all about how it's labeled and making it recognizable.

I was taking 3.2g before lifting, which I'm not certain if it had any effect on my temperature. I can say that I felt uncomfortable for about 15 minutes though.

I was initially interested because I know about it's benefits on lactate. I did more research and found this, which answers my question. It's worth a read if you're bored.

                        Conclusions

βA supplementation for 28 days enhanced sub-maximal endurance performance by delaying OBLA. However, βA supplemented individuals had a reduced aerobic capacity as evidenced by the decrease in VO2max values post supplementation.
