Hey, nice marmot!

On 11-Nov 2007, I ran my first 10K ever. My results: Veteran’s Day 10K 2007 Finish time: 56:39 Ave pace: 9:08 Overall place: 712/1180 (60.3%) Gender place: 462/619 (74.6%) Division place (M2529): 89/105 (84.8%) One year and 1500 miles later, I ran the same race again. My 2008 results: Veteran’s Day 10K 2008 Finish time: 46:43 Ave pace: 7:32 Overall place: 354/1524 (23.2%) Gender place: 298/808 (36.9%) Division place (M3034): 51/144 (35.4%) If I can just keep up this type of improvement, I'll have the world record in two years! Big grin

This is so encouraging to me. I have been running four months, and I am stuck at a 30:00 5K. Maybe by this time next year, I can get in the 28:00 range. I really hope so. Congrats on your improvement. Keep shooting for that world record!!
Dude -- that's awesome! Did you have anything left in the tank?

To be honest, very very little. It was pretty close to a true 10K effort.

I'm right there with you! I average about 20 minutes off my marathon time every time I run one! Nice job!
