VO2 Max = 15.3x(MHR/RHR) ?? (Read 98 times)

Probably not the most accurate way of calculating VO2 Max...?

but I did like my score of 59.7

maybe there's still some potential in this bod

    Anyone know more about this?

What recent workout or race result did you use to arrive at your VO2 estimate?

(If you want something a bit more flexible than your table...see resources, calculator, VO2)

Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.

I used the formula I posted in headline...

        =15.3 x (195/50)

According to most common reference material, you are correct with this statement.

Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.

I  can't think of any physical basis for that formula.  I expect it would be pretty easy to find numerous counter examples.

Also, your race time chart is way off.  Basing off the mile time, the other times are too slow assuming adequate training.

As my coach said when I gave him my VO2max value, "Great, but I still want to know a lot more about you as an athlete."

that emoji was unintentional but pretty accurately represents my relationship with the marathon
