          run, rest & read

The late, great Doc Watson - anything of his that's uptempo. That said, I never listen to music while running. He tends to speed up my walks to work though.

            an amazing likeness

This came up today after a couple hours mowing the lawn, and it was perfect. Roots rock, Canadian excellence..

              Kathleen Edwards

Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.

              Not dead. Yet.

Thanks for the link!  That song - in turn - brought to mind this well-known monster.

I think Gammy Ray rocks a little harder, and Frankenstein is a bit more melodic, but I totally see the comparison.  They have similar spacey sounds mixed with a hard, aggressive beat.  Fits like a glove in my Medium Core playlist.

Now you've got me thinking... maybe Karn Evil 9 - 1st Impression, Part 2 would fit too.

And down the rabbit hole we go.  Smile

How can we know our limits if we don't test them?

I dig this version of Tennessee Stud!  I also get into his version of Sittin' on Top of the World

                  Another amazing flat picker.

                  Revenge of the Nerd

I find myself in a room, empty and it's bare

with nothing but a mirror and I know you're waiting there

I'm looking for an answer, but I don't know who to ask

I see my own reflection, but this time I got The Mask

One of these days is none of these days.

                    ~ H.G. Bohn

This Local H cover of Britney Spears' "Toxic" cracks me up, and thus, I also find it mighty motivational.

Goldfinger's cover of 99 Red Balloons

"It's such a fine line between stupid, and uh..."

                            "Clever."

                            "Yeah, and clever."

                            lagwagon

my two current favorite pace breakers:

clutch -- crucial velocity (perfect tempo hard rocker)

folly -- broken  (NJ ska/punk/metal insanity; when all hell begins to break loose at 3:20, my pace drops to 3:20/mi)

Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus

This song caused me to turn a 3 mile easy run into a tempo.  :-|
