I know some of you are completely against running with music, but I can't imagine NOT running with it (errr, double negative. Nails on this English teacher's chalkboard)
What are some of your favorite additions to your playlist?
Mine current favs:
Sweet Child O' Mine-Guns N Roses
We are Never, ever getting back together-Taylor Swift
Forget you-Cee Lo
I Gotta Feeling-Black eyed Peas
And go!
I can and I will!
Here's a few that "gets me moving"...
Highway Star - Deep Purple
China Grove - Doobie Brothers
Red - Sammy Hagar
Blue Highway - Billy Idol
Love Removal Machine - The Cult
Big Machine - Velvet Revolver
Welcome To Planet Motherfucker - White Zombie
Kickstart My Heart - Motley Crue
FYI, there's an old thread on favorite running songs if you're interested. Since my last post there, I've discovered a few others...
Meet Me Halfway - Black Eyed Peas
Why Am I the One - Fun.
Back in Time - Pitbull
Everybody Talks - Neon Trees
Evacuate the Dancefloor - Cascada
My blog is JT Running DC. It's awesome. Guide to Washington DC Area Running Routes. Guide to the New York City Marathon. Guide to the Boston Marathon. Guide to Running Gear. Guide to Running Clothes.
not bad for mile 25
Not getting into the songs discussion but you know these two sentences have different meanings:
I can imagine running with music.
I can't imagine not running with music.
English is a little different from math.
For the record, I have difficulty imagining running with music, except what my brain provides.
In the immortal words of Barbie: "math class is tough, let's go shopping!"
Pearl Jam - Deep
I'll admit to air drumming at times. I'm sure people in my neighborhood think I'm insane.
I love this song towards the end of a long run:
Johnny Cash - Ain't No Grave

Thanks! I did search but apparently not thoroughly enough!
Great additions.
Not dead. Yet.
I've been heavy into Kraftwerk recently. Great energy and focus music.
Autobahn, Europe Endless, Tour de France...
Have yet to try on Spiritualized while running but I'll bet it will work great. Laser guided Melodies is the bomb.
How can we know our limits if we don't test them?
Rusk Runner
machine gun blues - social distortion
rusty cage - soundgarden
PRs...5K - 20:36, 4mile - 26:15, 13.1 - 1:32, 26.2 - 3:42
Just Run!!!
I forgot to add my current favorite -- Florence + The Machine's album "Ceremonials." Great vocals, steady rhythm yet good variety...
Some songs that get me moving:
W.A.S.P. - The Last Command
3 Doors Down - It's Not My Time
AC/DC - Thunder Struck
Three 6 Mafia - It's A Fight
Anthrax - Got the Time
Disturbed - Indestructible
Iron Maiden - The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner
No one knows - Queens of the Stone Age
Breathe - The Prodigy
True Faith - New Order
Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar
Reckon those choices probably mark me down as a Brit of a certain age!
some call me Tim
I don't know about listening, but when I'm having a particularly good long run occasionally I'll sing. (I'm sure the people along my running routes think I'm completely sane ) My current favorite for this is 'Grace Under Pressure' by Elbow, especially because it's a repeated anthem that I can sing for as long as I choose.
ME WEBLARG
Forgot another great one;
I bet you look good on the dance floor - The Arctic Monkeys
try it as you attack a hill..
