Calf work while running (Read 41 times)

I’ve run off and on for years. My calf’s have always been “weird” IMO, both looks and function. Looks wise they are very long, they take up about 2/3 of my lower leg. Not much I can do about that so I’m not concerned with aesthetics but with function. So while I’m running it feels like I’m working just inches above my Achilles. Is there anything I can do with my stride? Should I simply focus on using more of my calf muscle while pushing off?

This is an interesting thought. I wonder how would the experts respond to this.
