OK, not sure about a scientific answer here....But a coworker of mine did what you're saying (ran all her mileage on a track, in the same direction....not sure how she could handle that....I'd go bonkers....But I digress). Giving my 2 cents worth, I can't run on a track more than once a week; I need to go on the road.

My SIL runs on a track because of the amount of cougars in her area.
I don't know why, but that is funny. Not the danger, just the fact that it's one of the best explanations for running on a track I've ever seen.
