RP - are you the accountant? Cause we're going to need someone to tally doctors on the credit column and lawyers on the debit column...

No. I recalle JMac saying he is into finance and I THOUGHT he was a CPA however I could be assuming that due to "he is into finances and  golfs a lot." There IS a CPA in the Sunday run group.

I work for air pollution control for the state. I hate my boss and office, and I was just assigned a NEW boss. Spoiler alert: This new boss is the #1 reason I left compliance and entered permitting. In my dream world I get a new job from my interview next week.

dwave I thought rovatti was in the medical field?

    RIP Milkman

Don't confuse actuaries and accountants. Neither side will be happy about that.

We need to start a business. I think we have pretty much every profession. I expect Piwi to provide manual security though, I don't want any of this new age stuff.

Definitely not.  I do business valuation, and one of my friends knows that the best way to wind me up is to call me an accountant.

I've spent a little time on ahotu marathons yesterday looking up races for the second semester.

It felt good looking up at past races, results.

One very interesting event is the 3 countries marathon. It starts in Germany, the goes into Austria, does a small loop on a tiny swiss town and then back into Austria for a finish into a stadium with a lap on the track. The landscape looks gorgeous.

It's at the beginning of October as well, it should be before the next Covid season.

            Marathon, half and 10k events.

            It all sounds super cool

Why didn't you tell us GameStop was worth millions of dollars a few months ago? I was 'uh....counting" on you.

Flavio yeah the way I read it is two accountants. One can check the other so it's built in redundancy. I'll be the part of the business responsible for making bad decisions and getting the stuff no one else really likes.

Local 5k/10k is going on this weekend. Separate races on separate days. No finish line anything. staggered starting times too. It is being run on a popular multiuse path. I see this as a "why would I pay money to run a 6.2 mile run on Saturday?" Maybe sometime between April and November I'll be able to run an official race nearby, but with positivity rates going up and with changing was of measuring cases. At least we have an outline of what is required to get back to how we did things in 2019 and 2018.

Flavio - That marathon sounds really awesome.... at least as awesome as a road marathon can sound anyways.

I think I'm letting my run streak die today. I ran a hard workout yesterday morning then went for a swim over lunch where I felt fine and opted to do just a little bit of faster work (8x25). I got out of the pool after a mere 1000 yards and my right calf cramped up so hard I had to have someone push the foot back (it was plantarflexed) before the cramp stopped. I limped around all day and I woke up today with a really tight & tender calf and a heel that hurts which I think it plantar fasciitis. Ugg. Race in 8 days and I'm possibly injured.

                1600 - 5:23 (2018), 5k - 19:33 (2018), 10k - 41:20 (2021), half - 1:38:57 (2018), Marathon - 3:37:17 (2018)

Zebano I would pay good money for a video of you when you cramped up  always an out of control moment.

                  Hope you heal soon.

I'm up in Mark land. Did a long run this morning along the waterfront with 25 knots of headwind for the first half. I ran out of waterfront and had to head into the suburbs and was rudely greeted by hills .

Nice return leg though with the tailwind.

Hotel sucked unfortunately. Loud street and bus stop outside our single glazed room with drunks all night long outside.

                  Changing to another hotel tonight.

Good upper body workout yesterday carrying a box of Corona back to the Hotel 🏨

Thanks Mark. Feeling so relaxed, only nerves are of going too fast. Interesting to see if I get nerves on the start line in a non-race race. It may be good practice to avoid that elevated heart rate I’ve had a few times early in races in the last year.

Groin was inconsistent this week.  Barely felt it at all the first three runs, then felt it suddenly and fairly intensely halfway through on Thursday, but 95% of the soreness went away after 5 seconds and I finished the run fine, then today it was more like my recent normal of brief episodes of mild tightness but nothing particularly worrying.  Otherwise it was a good week.

My Pegasus Turbo 2s are strange (or maybe it’s my legs that are strange).  I like doing treadmill progression runs in them, and possibly because of the fancy foam I have almost no general leg soreness/tiredness afterwards.  However, during the first half of the runs I have brief soreness in lots of different places, including places that don’t usually hurt.  Today I had a minute or so of soreness behind my left knee, then after a while 30 seconds of right Achilles soreness, then later 30 seconds of mild groin soreness, then after a while something else, all in the early part of the run when I was going relatively slowly and easing into it.  Feel fine now.  Have my second covid vaccine Monday and am planning a down week whether or not I have side effects.

Piwi - another good week.  Sorry I didn't get to join you this morning.  Also you probably hit two of the worst back to back weather days we've had here for quite some time - yesterday was very windy and wet, today is as humid as it's been all summer.  Sorry about that!

James - all the best for the vaccine.  We are way behind here in NZ, still only finishing the rollout to frontline border workers.

Me - Felt like a breakthrough week this week.  My biggest week since last August and the Wednesday workout was the best workout I've run in a long time with a 15km progression finishing with the last 2km at around 10k pace.  Thought I'd feel pretty broken on Thursday after that but managed a nice steady pace there without much trouble.  Even Saturday's track workout turned out OK despite pretty horrible conditions.  I've got a minor niggle floating around my right glute, but only one more big week of training to get through so that should be fine.
