RunningAHEAD - Topic: Garmin 305 LCD Fade...

I've searched and Googled but can't find this one anywhere... On a run a week ago, the screen of my 305 faded in and out at the end of a run and was barely legible when finished. Two runs after that went fine, but two runs ago, it completely faded out mid-way through the run and hasn't come back since... I've charged it, played w/ the buttons and it *sounds* fine, but of course I can't tell from the display because it's completely blank. I'm out of warrantly, so my options might be a Garmin repair ($99) or a 405.

For that price I'd buy another 305. I'm not entirely sold on that 405 and the price on the 305 is so good right now.

Have you tried doing a hard reset on it? Hold the mode and the lap/reset buttons for a few seconds. It should start back up. You'll probably need to leave it on the charger for a few hours to recharge the battery, even if it says that battery charging is complete.
