    Does this look like it's worth doing? I like how it could be used as a regular workout which always lasts a set period of time. The variable of course would be the intensity of the intervals, but as I gained fitness I could slowly increase that.

      Feeling the growl again

        It's a sprint fartlek.  It will help you stay in touch with your speed without the full-on intensity of a real interval workout.  These work especially well at maintaining fitness during tapers without incurring too much fatigue.

         

        The rest of the crap they talk about is garbage, and there is nothing special about this particular setup versus many other variations of it one could do.

         

        Also, I would recommend you do more than a paltry 4-minute warmup.
