Restitution (Read 138 times)

morphex, okay, i see what you are after. And as you say, you are looking for a cool down immediately after your run (as in no break or withing the hour).

Cool downs as i have seen invariably last 1 mile (sorry there, metric bro) or up to about 20 minutes, with 12 to 15 minutes being much more common. I see some runners do 2 mile cool downs, but these are usually runners in a marathon training cycle, or maybe even with a HM as their next race.

As for the muscle and joint pain stuff, I don't mean to be a jerk, but i have that all the time. The area affected changes, but somewhere is always hurting. I know a fair number of fairly competitive runners who, on any given day, will tell you about their ache du-jour  if you ask them. Again, another very individual thing as to how different runners handle it, but as one poster once said on a former now defuct messageboard, 'with running, it's always something.'

Ok. Aches and pains are one thing.

Not being able to sit down for extended periods of time, without taking painkillers, is in another category.

Funny thing is that I noticed a small circular scab on my left calf in the period after I got problems. I wonder if I scratched my calf in the jacuzzi at the gym and got some infection.

It's either that or I strained the leg, or it is related to a stretch in the neck and knock on the head I got a few years back which affects my whole left side.

Agreed, i would sort that one out with the help of a doctor.

I do have a dialog with my doctor yes. However, people in these forums run, and he is a general practice doctor.
