Whoops, sorry if you spent time writing out a reply. I just reread it and thought it sounded kind of annoying so didn't want to trouble anyone and tried to delete. I'll try to figure out something with making a plan. Sorry for the confusion!
My basic answer was that you should decide which is more important, to follow that plan or run with your friends. If the latter, then it's probably best if you kind of know what you're doing in terms of training methodologies when shifting things around. I wouldn't have done it, because I don't.
Pfitz 70 is a good plan imho, I used it a few times and set PR's with it. But there's plenty of ways to skin a cat.
