Hey all!...I've done a lot of winter running up here in Vermont and so spiking my shoes with sheet metal screws is nothing new to me. My question is has anyone ever put screws on their Salomon Speedcrosses before? The treads on these shoes already have a very high profile and I'm worried that putting screws in on the treads is going to make them too unstable? Anyone have any previous experience with this?
I did this a few years ago. The problem I had wasn't the tread but the fact that the cushion is pretty thin and even 1/4 inch screws poked into my feet a little bit in the toe area. I a few nice cuts after a 50k race because of that.
