I was wondering if it might not make sense to make either the topics in the main forum or the topics in individual group forums addressable as an RSS feed. That way, you wouldn't have to load up the entire page and burn the bandwidth for images etc. just to see if there were new posts on something that you were interested in. I did a quick search but didn't see this raised before. Have you considered it?

dgb2n, This has been asked several times before and it has been on my back burner for a while now. I'm not keen on an RSS feed for the exact reason you think it would be a good idea. RSS polls the server at regular intervals, which can actually increase the bandwith usage of the site. I'll be going through a series of upgrades this year. I'll revisit this after all the dust settles. eric :-)
