Inflamed extensor tendons? (Read 859 times)

Anyone ever experienced inflamed extensor tendons? It’s pain on the top of the foot from the toe to the instep along the metatarsals. Good description here:

This is exactly how my foot felt after my (first ever) half marathon Sunday. I’ve had this pain in the past after 7-10 mile long runs but a change of shoes with a bit more posting got rid of it. But it came back with a vengeance after my half. Now, I ran it pretty hard (1:49:39 with a potty break) and it was the BAA Half which is a pretty hilly course with a lot of turns. I haven’t run this week and it is much better today. I’m planning on an easy run this weekend. I’m wondering whether I should explore inserts for my shoes of just chalk the pain up to running hard on a challenging course.
