H-Wave? (Read 140 times)

Recently injured my knee by my exuberant, zooming pup slamming into me.  I have been to Dr. and have had xray and will be getting MRI.  Dr. will be putting together treatment plan based on the MRI results.  He did do a Graston session last week and will be getting a second one tonight. In the meantime, I have been reading about H-wave and am thinking this might be a good option to have for home use for all my other nagging squeaky wheels that need some grease.  The cost for a machine is roughly $3,300, but looks like there are two versions.  One is by prescription, the other is labeled OTC.  Other than that, does anyone know if there are any other differences?  Can't find answers on their website.

A few years ago I went to doctor because of some knee pain, specifically where the quad meets the knee. I was told it was a weak butt, and to go to PT. I did PT for 8 weeks and then did his suggested "do all these exercises for 30 min then run for 10 then do all of these exercises again". I was still having the pain and when I told him that there was no resolution at the end of my session, he frankly said "Well keep doing this and keep me posted." With that great advice I went out and bought an EMS device and massaged, and "pulsed" my glutes and quads. After 2 weeks, I was back at it again pain free.

It seemed to help my muscles fire in a different way, it was like a twitch and that twitching (based on the intensity) was able to contract and relax my muscle to a point where it wouldn't flare up anymore. If you do proceed, I'd suggesting really narrowing down why it hurts, not where it hurts. More often then not your pain is originating from some where and the result is pain in a different spot.

      I used COMPEX - $150

I am a rehab specialist with H-Wave and left my 14 year career to be part of this technology. The company gave me one to use before I accepted their offer. It completely revived my body. I am running pain free for first time in 30 years and have been using now for 6 months. It has changed my life.  It is a unique waveform that does some awesome things in many different ways.  I recover so fast now. The pro sport teams and major colleges in WI and across the country use this technology for recovery and post injury and pain control. I recently spoke with head trainer for GB Packers and they love it. PM me for specific details on OTC vs. H4 prescription model and discounts.  Certain conditions require physician monitoring.....post op use, chronic pain conditions etc

According to MRI,  knee has several nondisplaced fractures along with obliterated joint space between kneecap and femur, a chronic frayed meniscus and some bad arthritis along with some other findings.  The chiro doc dropped me like a hot potato and referred me to ortho surgeon who I will be meeting with this week.  This knee did not hurt all that bad before the acute injury and now with 3 weeks post injury back to feeling like I could run on it (but holding off till ortho visit). The left (anterior) hip was a nagging pain before the injury and got worse the last 3 weeks as I altered how I moved.  Started some hip flexor stretches and starting to feel much better.  Surgery would be my last resort if I can control or limit further damage with the right non-invasive alternative.

TChuck, is the Hwave use contraindicated with fracture? (will also private message you).

            SMART Approach

No contraindication post fracture or post surgery. Used often in these instances to prevent atrophy and for muscle activation and active recovery when patient is forced to be immobile or non active..

Update:  Met with the orthopedic surgeon who determined it was not a fracture from the collision, mostly just strained ligaments.  What the radiologist thought was a fracture is actually Osteochondritis dissecans with avascular necrosis, bad arthritis and bone on bone. He took xrays of my other knee (which actually hurt worse before the acute injury) and it was also bone on bone and bad arthritis, but not as bad on xray as the left. The hip xray showed bone spurs.  Funny thing is, where it hurts in my knees is not where it is bone on bone and the hip on xrays is not as bad as the knees yet it usually hurts the most.  Sooo…. I ordered an H-Wave and was pleasantly surprised at the great discount I got on it (thanks Todd!).  Have been using the unit for over a week now and can honestly say this thing is a game changer.  The first treatment felt like the pain had lifted and that first night I was able to finally get a good restful night of sleep.  Chronic pain had not been allowing me to fall asleep fast or stay asleep even if I were dead tired. The achy hip and knee have really quieted down after just a week of treatment and feel like the damaged knee from the acute injury is fully healed.  I am back to running, biking and carrying on with normal life, rebuilding strength and endurance that I had lost after being off for over a month, (at my age of 62 the decline in endurance and strength went fast)!  Love the results of the H-Wave!!  Thanks Todd!!!!
