I've had my Garmin 301 since July 2008. The HRM strap is all stretched out, and the rubber USB cover has broken off, but its still operational and I am totally familiar with it.

Any thoughts on this 405CX. I recall bezel issues with the original ones, but the pictures on this one look like  its been changed.

    Appreciate any opinions!

I think its worth it.  I have a new and a refurb 405cx and both work as advertised.

My 405cx has about 1000 miles give or take on it, never had any problems despite mixed reviews from others. I know some people just plain dont like the touch bezel, but I find that it works fine. Sometimes in the rain or snow when its wet I'll have to tap it twice to get it to answer, but thats it. I'm also one to start recording and not touch it again until after the run, so maybe if I played with it all the time during a run I'd feel differently. I've compared output with my Garmin Oregon handheld GPS, and accuracy has been great.

          No complaints from me.

I got mine used (with about 40 miles) for about $120. I have no regrets, you will love it. The only thing i didn't like is the blue color. I highly recommend switching the straps with the NATO style straps, they will make a WORLD of difference (but not match the color)

Heck yes!  Got my 405cx refurb in July for $120.  Works like a champ and the touch bezel complaints are overblown.
