It'd be sweet if we could change our homepage to go to whatever we want. for instance, I'd like it if www.runningahead.com redirected immediately to my training log summary.

The pavement fears me.

Not challenging your idea. It seems like there's already a simple way to do this by using browser favorites. For example, I have a link to my RA log, a link to my RA workouts, a link to the RA main Forums, a few to some of the groups -- these are simple browser favorites.
