Pfitz HM training (Read 107 times)

    For those who've used Pfitz's HM planning (from his book Road Racing for Serious Runners), has anyone ever mixed schedules a and b?  I'm asking because mileage wise the <30 mi/week starts a fair bit lower than what I've been running lately (not the last 2 weeks where I've been racing, but the weeks before that I was doing 25-30 comfortably), but the 30-50mi seems like it's a bit too much.  So what I'm thinking is using the long runs from schedule B but the speed workouts from schedule A because my speed training has been non-existent for a long while.  Is this a bad idea or does it sound reasonable?

    I also have a bunny ahead of me taunting me so there's that too
