I have 200 miles of pre-track off season training (starting in december of last year), ~300 miles of running in track, ~300 miles of pre-xc training, and ~300 miles in xc, and I did taper in this time frame.
Should I keep running or take about a 1 month break? My only fear is getting a stress fracture or some kind of injury like that, but at the same time, I'm really in shape, and I could take advantage of that and get significantly better for the track.
Old , Ugly and slow
I would take a week off and then run easy for 3 weeks.
pr's 5k 20.08, 5 mile 31:20, 10k 41.19 all done in the 80's
2014goals 1300 miles , 190 pounds , deadlift 400 touch my toes
