Holly, I don't know the answer to your question about Cipro, but please don't ever take amoxicillin if you had an allergic reaction to it in the past. It was explained to me that the severity of the reaction can vary. You can be just "itchy" one time, but then the next time have trouble breathing!
The only person I know who had trouble with Cipro was not a runner. After a week on it, his achilles tendon started hurting really badly. He still has trouble walking! He's been down to Boston to get help, but they couldn't do anything for him.
