Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.

Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.

Getting the wind knocked out of you is the only way to

remind your lungs how much they like the taste of air.

I dont actually run at the moment with any music, but for christmas my partner has got me a ipod shuffle, so I will be giving it a go. I will most definitely be cranking up Joe Satriani, Malmsteen and Steve Vai!!!

"I've been following Eddy's improvement over the last two years on this site, and it's been pretty dang solid. Sure the weekly mileage has been up and down, but over the long haul he's getting out the door and has turned himself into quite a runner. He's only now just figuring out his potential. Consistency in running is measured in years, not weeks. And over the last couple of years, Eddy's made great strides" Jeff 14 Jan 2009

                          Anyone have pizza?

I tend to mix it up. I usually throw in 25% Heay Metal/Hard Rock 25% Techno, 25% Classic Rock (to slow down and just recover), and 25% Inspiration Music (soundtracks and Olympiad music, etc etc).

Joey Satch rocks! "Surfing" is awesome. Another great Satriani album is 'The Extremist' Tracks from there like War, Motorcycle Driver, and the title track, could unearth dead bodies and make them run sub 4 minute miles! Damn, Maiden's great too. I saw them open for Priest twice in New York back in the 80's (whoops, I think I just dated myself)
Depending on my scheduled run, I have music split up into different categories: RACE, FAST, SLOW, COUNTRY, ROCK. The songs range from Mama Tried (Merle Hagard) and Dean Martin (Misty Moonlight) to AC/DC (Highway to Hell) and Black Eyed Peas (My Humps) ETA: Refreshing to find people are actually responding to OP's question and not posting a diatribe of invective about MP3 players causing all that is unholy and wrong in the world.
