plantar fasciitis/frostbite (Read 521 times)

Hello, I am new to this forum, but not to running. I have been dealing with a nasty case of PF for several months. I have been using ice to reduce inflamation, and I usually have a barrier between the ice and my heel, but last friday, I didn't have a barrier, and early Saturday morning I realized that I probably have frostbite on my heel. The skin was red and painful as if I had burned it. So now I have a whole new pain. I have been cross training and stretching and strengthening in hopes to fix the PF problem, but I am not sure what to do about the frostbite. I did have my foot x-rayed Saturday morning, but haven't received any result yet. My doctor ordered the x-ray to check for fractures or spurs. I guess my question is has anyone ever gotten frostbite from icing and what do I need to do about it? Thanks in advance!! j dotten
