Hartford Freedom 5k race report (Read 395 times)

Today i ran the Hartford Freedom 5k which was held by the Hartford marathon. The race raised money for families with relatives in the national guard. The race brought out a solid 336 runners which was cool because i like bigger races. I ran a good race and came in second overall with a time of 17:21. This was reassuring for me seeing as my xc season ended not as well as i liked, and ive only run 18 miles in the last 2 weeks after xc season ended, so today was a good day. the one complaint i do have is when i was coming to the finish all their walkers and runners on their second lap in the way so, i felt like i was in a chase seen in some bad cop movie bumping into people trying to escape, and also the finish was inside the hartford Armory, so their was a really sharp turn into a building which took away from my momentum. The award ceremony was cool they gave me a medal some cool silver national guard badge and a huge apple pie, so it was a good time!
