This thread is always so much fun to go back and peruse through.
Doepicruns - Congratulations on the weight loss, but more importantly - - congratulations on the 3 1/2+ years of sobriety!! My husband is a recovering alcoholic, so from that standpoint, I know from whence you came. Very proud of you. April 21st will be The Hub's 3rd birthday.

Thanks folks, in early 2013 I saw this fat old man looking at me in the mirror and decided to quit one of my two jobs and use my spare time to get my butt back out on the trail. Even I'm (pleasantly) surprised what a year and 2,500 miles of running can do to a person's body.
super cool shipo. you're looking good!
Wow, that's a really awesome accomplishment!
Just out of curiosity, are you saying that you went from couch potato to averaging 200+ miles per month in less than a year??? For myself, when I first started running, trying to do more than 20 miles per week always led to an injury. 50+ miles per week right out of the gate seems like a lot of mileage for newbie legs!

I don't know if I would have qualified as a newbie in April of 2013 as I have been a runner off and on (more off) for decades now. Per my running logs:
Contrary to previous attempts to restart running, I decided to strictly adhere to the following rules wherever and whenever possible:
Outstanding, Shipo!!
