X-trainers and triathletes out there might want to check out Fitness Swimming by Emmett Hines. It's got lots of drills and info for making you a more efficient swimmer, and has some schedules/training program suggestions. It's aimed at swimmers, especially adults, rather than triathletes, but the info can be easily carried over to a tri program.

You know, I just bought this book last week! My swimming skills are laughable at best, and it is indeed fantastic. I've only done the first and third workouts out of the green section, but by the end, I could swim across a length of the pool without sputtering or having to stop or having a lifeguard ask if I'm drowning. It's amazing how being in decent shape from running or cycling doesn't translate over to the pool until you get your technique right. I'm curious as to whether there's a similar book for other strokes now...
