First HM for a highschool xc runner... (Read 375 times)

    I'm a junior in high school, and I want to run a half marathon in January or February 2009. My season just got over but I am still running. Is this long enough to train? I am in really good shape, but I only have raced 5k's. What should I change in my training schedule? I am used to two hard workouts a week, and 1 long run, and running 6 days a week. Thank you so much!


    Menace to Sobriety

      When my daughter was a HS runner, she did the same thing, only ours was only a month after the season. She just kept up with the weekly milage and threw in a couple of longer runs...10-11 miles.( She won her age group) You should be fine with the extra month or two. Good luck.
