Arggg...foot issue (Read 558 times)

Shiksa

Brief introduction: I'm past the beginning stage of running, but still on distances of between 3 and 5 miles. I'm currently building up my stamina and strength after the birth of my baby 8 months ago. I just joined here a few days ago. Smile About 8 weeks ago, I was running along and out of nowhere, my right foot collapsed and I landed on my caboose. There was no pain...nothing. I didn't land in a hole or anything. I took a few days off. My tailbone is still recovering. My right foot just has "oddities" that I don't know what to do about. Every few days it will feel sort of wobbly. Yesterday, I ran nearly 4 miles and the last 1/4 mile my third toe was burning and tingling. What gives? I've changed shoes. I've only ran about 20 miiles on this new pair. However, if I'm going to continue to have problems increasing mileage, I've got to figure out what to do. I never had any problems before the baby. However, I also was about at this level then when I slowed down because of pregnancy. -S

I would talk to your doctor -- or better yet, a podiatrist. Good luck! and welcome to the crazyness that is RA! Smile

Thank you for the welcome. It's great to be here. I'm not opposed to going to the doctor. I just live quite rurally and have a house full of kids, so going is not too convenient. I opted not to go for the tailbone because it would have taken 3 appointments and x-rays for them to tell me that time will heal it. I should have added too, that the ankle feels quite stable in my new shoes now. The toe issue is the new problem. I will definitely go to the doctor instead of hurting it more. I'm just hoping it is nothing a little adjustment can't change.
