Cannot access site via WiFi (Read 56 times)

RA will not load when connected via wifi, but no issues when connected via mobile network on the same device (iPhone 8). I am on Safari and iOS 13.3. Any ideas? Tries to load for a while then gets a blank screen saying “Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found”. This just started today.

I can't upload today's run on any platform.  It says Garmin Communicator not installed.  I've tried to re-install it.  No luck.

Well it seems to have fixed itself. Although it’s very slow.

It is not RA; the site's servers have only their connection to the data center internet routers, and from there it's all the internet.  There's no difference to the site whether you connect via wifi, direct ethernet, cellular, or smoke signal. You're only a device at an IP address.

I just couldn’t understand why I wasn’t having any issues with other sites, apps, streaming TV, etc.

Well...looking at bit deeper and using a few internet diag tools, it does look like the 1st (aka "preferred") internet BGP route entry to the site's IP (67.203.23.20) is in an depressed state (ROA failure).  The secondary BGP routes are live and working fine.

So (#1), if your wifi router's upstream router is insisting on not walking down the possible routes from preferred to alternates, that might be the source of your issue.

So (#2), there's a glitch in someone's internet routing hub, and it likely will age out and resolve over time.

(interestingly...my current internet path to RA is via boston-Ireland-Chino CA, to the data center in NY...so packets are avoiding something on the east coast in the NY area)

My run showed up last night under the imported workouts tab.  I'm out the door to see if it works for today's run.

I'm wondering if there's something going on on the RA side.  My run today uploaded just fine, all data correct except the date!  The date of the run was 1/16/20.  I manually corrected it but that's never happened before.  My GPS watch has the correct date.
