Still kicking

    Sweet- Desolation Boulevard

The most awesome rock album ever recorded and then forgotten. Precursor to the hard rock of the late 70's. It's hard to believe it was the same group who's biggest hit was "Love is like Oxygen" before falling off the face of the earth.

Interesting... I always thought it was ELO who did "Love is like Oxygen".

"Not to touch the Earth, not to see the Sun, nothing left to do but run, run, run..."

      Still kicking

Love is like Oxygen is definitely a Sweet original. ELO may have covered it later, but I had the Sweet album. It came out in 78. I remember much anticipation, and then the rest of the album sucked.

Tons of great music on this list now.   Rasch, nice playlist!   Most of my music is 80's and 90's, alot of "New Age" type of stuff, but as far as new music being released in the past few years, it is mostly Independent music.

This one tops my list recently, was on rasch's playlist as well:

Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition   ---

          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vN7HQrgakZU&feature=kp

I'll throw another one on the list as well:  Not well heard of, but very unique.   Starts out slow, this is more a "long run" type of song, not short run. :-)   It is an interesting mix of the "Steel Drum" mixed with synthesizer, rhythmic new age kind of sound.  File this one under he  "Electric SteelPan Caribe' Zen"  Category?  :-)

          Jaime XX Far Nearer   ----

          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8NwgXhkADY

And pretty well known, but how about LCD Soundsystem? -  I can Change  ----

          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tW8FKkVnqng

one more!  A throwback to a lesser known band :-):

1990's Anything Box ----   Answer me (Off the beaten path techno band).  Any "Anything Box" fans out there?   (I once played this song so loud out of my 1980's "Sears" stereo system with big speakers + amplifier that it made the lightbulb in the room burn out when the bass hit.  Ah, the younger days, lol.

              Beautiful by Lee & LeBlanc

Such a happy song. From the soundtrack of Shortbus, one of my favorite films, really a bizarre and beautiful movie.

                              Some of the lyrics....

She was a Middle Distance Runner

...she would run a perfect circle

....She had legs that went on to infinity.

...She didn't make love, but she made a good sandwich.
