I also realized somehow I'm gaining weight right now. Didn't know that was possible putting up 75mpw+. Curse of getting older I guess, but I'll really have to watch my diet once my taper starts in a few weeks.
Tell me about it. I think I lost 2 pounds over the course of 16 weeks at 85 MPW. It absolutely is age. I can't imagine what I'd weigh if I didn't have this strange running addiction Maybe I'll focus on loosing weight over the next few weeks......or not LOL.
Weather So glad to see you back. I've only started posting since January but was a lurker for years on this thread and the earlier one. Your training and performances were inspiring!!

Mmmm Bop
Just cut out the carbs…do you really need a gel or sports drink during that long/tempo run?
And if you order a Chinese or Indian takeaway at the weekend…make it last 2 days!

Thanks again. So glad to be back at any level! Jack - even when I was super fit still feel like you always performed closer to your true potential in the marathon. My shorter race times up to about the half would have suggested slightly faster marathon times.

This could possibly be an opportunity for Cal to get his revenge on me?
I am in for Chicago 2023 if you are serious. Even if it's you who would need a revenge

Mikkey You're a tough coach. I tried Keto and running for about 7-8 weeks averaging 40-50 miles with no speed and it worked but the running SUCKED. I had no energy and heartburn every run. It worked to loose weight but I promised myself never again.
When I beat you at Boston I’m going to act with dignity like my hero Tyson Fury who beat Deontay Wilder 3 times…and give you another chance.
If I run Boston and Chicago next year then I think Tokyo would be the only major I haven’t run.
Never order naan bread if you phone for an Indian takeaway. It’s just carbs that you don’t need.
My very wise wife has always said…a moment on the lips is a lifetime on the hips.
Mikkey please don't tell me beer is banned too

Mikkey this is so offensive. The whole point of running is to be able to order the garlic naan

If you REALLY feel the need to order bread with your Indian takeaway then I would recommend Peshwari naan. 👍
Pakistani food is the way to go…Lahori chicken with a chapati bread. What I’d do to have that for breakfast today…I’d even agree to a booster

Ah, but you need the naan with chana masala! One of my favorites.
It's hard not to commit regular carbicide when marathon training. Just up the mileage to compensate.

When my wife and I first went to Thailand we did a bus trip tour and the guide said that he ate a Thai stir fry meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner…and I thought, bliss! 👍
RIP Milkman
One of my best friends is my random roommate from college. Pakistani heritage (born in America). I am obssessed with the food. His wife cooks amazing stuff and I tell him I'm not showing up to his house if we just eat pizza and burgers and other American food for the weekend.
Breakfast food is such an interesting cuisine by culture that people don't talk about. It's not even close which is the worst: British. Almost couldn't eat breakfast every day I was in London.
