Who raced this weekend (and how did it go) (Read 1245 times)

The natural followup to lefty's thread, let everyone know how you did. Here's mine:
    May 3 Lancaster 5K - small race in a nearby city Goal: 18:00 http://www.anb.ca/indexRunNB.php?content=viewEvent&id=303&version=english / http://www.alexcoffin.com
I had a great race, temperatures were low, probably around 10C or a little less. It was a 2 lapper, and there was a kids 2.5 that was them doing the first lap. The start was pretty nuts. I kept my pace up pretty well, I think my splits were fairly even given the hills, and I finished around 17:20 (official times up tonight) 45 second PB! I'm thrilled. Now I have to try to PB again at CF nationals at the end of the month. It'll be hard 'cause it'll be a lot hotter.

Did a 5K in Green Bay. I got to race at 7:30 thinking it started at 8:00am. Did a 1.5 mile jog, got to start line with 10 min. to spare. Noticed very few people around. Checked and I was an hour early. Talked a bit, sat in car a bit. Ran another 2 miles and did race. Ran a 19:40. Pretty happy with time considering I am bit fatigued from 11 miles on Wed and softball (sprinting on Thur). Race was a bit short 3.05. I was hoping for 20:15 which I would have beat if course was certified. Splits were 6:41, 6:33 and 6:19 with spint finish. Without doing a lot of faster pace work in training I am noticing my HR being much higher per mile at my paces and getting new max HR. HR does go up a bit when condition drops. Half marathon in 2 weeks. Hammys are holding up ok.

Ran Flying Pig 5k. Goal was 17:45 and I ran around a 17:29-30. Pretty happy about it. About a 40 second PR but that's not amazing since it's only my 2nd or 3rd 5k in a year and a half.

Hagg Lake 10K 48:33 (unofficial time) 2nd woman overall, 1st in age group. Very hilly course, and still a PR. Gives me confidence that I should be able to break 48 on a reasonable course. Won a pie in the post race raffle which is cool because I am having guests for dinner. Actually the guy next to me won the pie and then gave it to me. Also learned that what makes a good HM breakfast is too much for a 10K

Ran the Thrill on the Hill 10k. I wanted to run around a 50 or under but that didn't happen. Finished in 50:42 which I thought was pretty good. Last year I ran around a 52:44 so it was an improvement especially considering the conditions. It rained pretty much all night long and the race was half road/half trail. There were spots where I was up to my calf in mud and water and the hills were really slippery. My shoes were about 10 lbs heavier after I got out of the woods covered in mud and soaked with water. But at least it wasn't raining during the race and it actually has turned out to be a nice day. Good job to everyone who raced today.
I ran the Indianapolis 500 festival 1/2 marathon and had a PR of 1:47:16, I started in the back and was jammed up by 35000 people it was crazy, I pretended it was the Tour de France and rode the pelathon of people but it was a log jam all the way till mile 13.
Ran the American River Parkway Half Marathon this morning. Beat last year's time by 22:01, finished in 2:28:28. Yep, slow compared to most of you, but I'm getting better!!! My goal was 2:30 so I'm ELAAAAATED!!!

                      22 minute PR... incredible! Fantastic.
Great races everyone! Smile I too ran the 500 Festival Indy Mini. I PR'd by 1 minute! Better than nothing I guess. I took it pretty easy and ran a steady pace throughout, which was a challenge for me as I tend to go out too fast (though I would have run a bit faster if I would have understood the pace being shown on my Garmin was just for the lap and not the entire race average-oops). I ran the last mile really fast though (once I realized I read the Garmin wrong and was going to miss PR), so I probably could have done a little better. I am happy though...
                          Congratulations, Knifey!!! Smile

1st in age group, PR and a pie. It doesn't get any better than that! By the way, your profile pic is the best. You look like you're all like "just try to catch me!"

Today was the Children's Museum 5k and Kid's Fun Run. I was hoping to run a sub-30 minute 5k (FAST for me). I wasn't sure if it was going to happen since the course is pretty hilly. The day wasn't exactly ideal. Earlier in the week, the weather forecast said 64 and sunny. This morning was more like 40 and rainy. Sad My prior (and first) 5k was last November, 34:40. Well, I ran it in 29:10! Smile I am so happy with my time. I saw quite a few friends at the race, both running it and cheering. The BEST part of the day was the kid's fun run. My daughter ran in the 6 & under race. It was great. The look on her face was priceless. And the result? Later in the day, she announced that she was no longer a couch potato! I am SO proud.
